My friend’s dinner plate that he was proud enough to post. I can’t see any seasoning.

Shrimp can still be delicious with zero seasoning. Ever had shrimp cocktail?

If the shrimp is fresh enough, it already taste sweet. Boil corn and potato with no seasoning, a bit bland but ok.
I am so confused about just plain boiled onion. Even fresh onion might be better lol at least that way it can give crunch and freshness.
LifeguardSecret6760
Some people like the flavor of their food not just seasoning. I don’t mind boiled shrimp mostly plain, I just dip them in a cocktail sauce anyway

I haven’t ever been served head on shrimp. Is it normal for the antennas (?) to be so long?

Truthfully good shrimp would only need salt.
But some garlic butter and lemon would go a long way.

I’m getting flashbacks to that one pic of the police department proudly showing off their seafood boil.

Shrimp don’t need to be covered with old Bay. I’m more concerned with the whole shrimp being served like that. He gonna devein each shrimp while he eats?
wellamiright888
Do fresh prawns like this need seasoning? I’m from Australia and we eat them fresh like this and just dip in lemon water, delicious

That’s not what bugs me the most about this post

The shrimp doesn’t need any seasoning if it’s fresh. Plenty of flavor sucking the heads out.
Xampy321
Honestly depending on how fresh those shrimps are, you probably don’t need any seasoning 🤷🏻♀️

Pink bugs, raw onion, and a teeny corn. The fuck is going on…?!

Onion is seasoning. Garlic is seasoning. I’m guessing salt was in here too. You must mean a lack of powdered ingredients?

Why would you season shells? You might get a little on yer lips sucking their brains out I suppose…

Not saying this is great but salt goes a long way. It’s not like seasoned(salt) shrimp/corn/potatoes/onion tastes bad.
Sure, I’d prefer a little more flavor in the boil or a spiced up cocktail sauce, but there’s not necessarily anything bad here(unless they didn’t season with salt).

Scandinavian?

We eat them like this in Sweden, nothing shitty about it.

Shrimp, onions and corn dont necessary need seasoning imo. The rest without seasonign is sad.
As a whole plate, with a mountain of shrimp a few random things next to them, sad.
PawnWithoutPurpose
It does look shitty, But no seasoning isn’t a valid criticism. They’re shell on prawns so the seasoning wouldn’t sit on the meat. In this case you either season the broth or the dipping sauce (or both)

Do you often season the shells of shrimp you will peel off later?

Those shrimps are insanely delicious just as they are (maybe with a squeeze of lemon juice). They are so flavourful in and of themselves. No need to ruin them with seasoning. Why mask their delicious taste?
